Elvis Presley, it goes without saying, was a legendary singer who provided a timeless soundtrack to a generation. His eccentric lifestyle, love for women, luxurious homes made him bigger than life. Although Elvis had many women in his lifetime, he was only married once — in the late ’60s, to Priscilla Presley. The pair had only one child together, daughter Lisa Marie. People portrayed their lives as perfect, but it was far from great. His ex-wife and daughter have led hard lives in the spotlight since his death in 1977. Here are some dark secrets that you p10robably haven’t heard about the family: 1. Lisa Marie Presley didn’t have a good ‘married’ life Few women have a marriage track record like Lisa Marie Presley. In 2016, news broke that Lisa Marie divorced Michael Lockwood, whom she had been married to since 2006. Unfortunately, it was her fourth failed marriage. According to Us Weekly, she was also married to Danny Keough from 1998 to 1994. Her second marriage was to the King of Pop Michael Jackson and that lasted only from 1994 to 1996. Lisa Marie had another short-lived marriage to Nicholas Cage from 2002 to 2004. Blunt about her numerous walks down the aisle, Presley told Marie Clarie in 2007 some of her decisions weren’t the best. “I had been really sheltered. I got married the first time very, very young,” she told the magazine. And as for her rocky marriage to Cage? “Marrying him was a wild flurry, a crazy idea and being young” — ouch! 2. She had a criminal Ex-husband? Back in early 2017, shortly after filing divorce from her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood– Lisa Marie made a shocking claim she found inappropriate pictures and other materials on Michael’s computer. As a result, the couple’s 8-year-old twin daughters need to live with Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley, according to ABC News. It all started in June of 2016, when she contacted authorities claiming child abuse. In the aftermath of that situation, authorities seized items from the couple’s Tennessee home. No criminal charges have been filed against Lockwood. 3. Lisa Marie is becoming broke Lisa Marie says her bank accounts are nearly on zero after details of her finances were disclosed in her ongoing divorce with Michael. According to ABC News, the starlet claims most of her $300 million fortune is gone and that she owes big bucks to to IRS and creditors. 4. Priscilla had a bad surgery Priscilla fell victim to a terrible doctor who only wanted her cash. According to TMZ, who wrote a 2008 story about Elvis’ ex-wife’s face, she allowed an unlicensed physician, Dr. Daniel Serrano, to inject silicon into her face. Even worse, the drugs and chemicals used were not even meant for cosmetic procedures — rather they were similar to silicone used for auto parts in Argentina. 5. Priscilla lost herself when she got married to Elvis The year was 1967 and Priscilla were marrying her hunky new man, who was also an international star. As great as it would seem for any young girl to marry Elvis, Priscilla recalls losing herself and her identity as a young teenage woman. She claims their marriage ended partly because they “lived in a bubble” and rarely went out and bond as a couple. And there were several odd things as well — including him never wanting to see her without makeup during their six-year union. “He never wanted to see me getting dressed. He wanted to see the result of getting dressed,” she told a UK talk show. 6. Elvis had a thing for virgins Elvis had a big thirst for money, food, drugs, glamour and of course ‘virgin’ women. He liked his ladies to come with one caveat — they must be virgins, reported the Daily Mail, who published snippets from the book Elvis Presley: A Southern Life by Joel Williamson. According to the book, he and Priscilla were intimate but didn’t have intercourse before marriage as he felt the need to preserve her virginity. Their six-year union. “He never wanted to see me getting dressed. He wanted to see the result of getting dressed,” she told a UK talk show. 7. Elvis would do anything to look good During the weight-loss period, Elvis mainly slept “except for free brief periods each day when he woke up long enough to go to the bathroom and eat a small portion of food,” Linda writes. “Then he was sedated again and went back to sleep.” He was also known to crash diet on just 500 calories a day, she said. Another secret from her relationship to the iconic singer? He wore high collars to conceal his neck, which he apparently he feels insecure about. She writes he wore the trademark style to keep his “skinny little chicken neck” hidden from the public. But at age 40, after years of wear and tear, Elvis opted for a facelift. 8. Priscilla dated way too fast One year after Tom Jones’ wife, Melinda, died, Priscilla was spotted on a romantic date night with Tom. The scene caused a stir as the pair had been friends for decades, reported The Sun (via The Mirror). But while it seemed like a match, Tom revealed he was unsure how his friend Elvis would feel about dating his wife. “I really don’t know how Elvis would feel about us having dinner together. He probably wouldn’t be too sure,” he said. 9. Elvis hates ‘germs’ Speaking to Jonathan Ross (via the Daily Mail) in 2015, Priscilla revealed that her late ex-husband was extremely germophobe. In fact, he refused to use anyone else’s silverware — even at restaurants. “He never liked to go to people’s homes to eat because [he] didn’t like eating with other people’s silverware, so he would take his own silverware,” she revealed of his dark secret. “And he didn’t like drinking out of cups that other people had drunk out of, even restaurants or other people’s homes… So when he drank, he would drink where the handle was, knowing that no one would ever drink at that side.” 10. Graceland was allegedly pro-discrimination Graceland, Elvis’ estate, and the city of Memphis were accused of racial discrimination in 2017, said reports of the New York Daily News.
